What is PawMatch
PawMatch is a Chilean app I'm building so dogs can socialize safely with other dogs nearby. It's currently at the concept-validation stage: the site works as a pilot to find interested dog owners before the full app launches.
The idea comes from a real problem: coordinating dog playdates through social media or open groups is uncomfortable and risky.
The problem
- Doubtful identities: there's no identity verification, so it's impossible to know whether the person behind a profile is really a responsible owner. - Medical uncertainty: there's no way to confirm the other dog's vaccines or microchip are up to date. - Exposing your home: coordinating meetups near your house reveals your personal location. - Energy mismatches: forcing interaction between dogs with incompatible temperaments, sizes or energy levels causes stress and fights.
The solution
PawMatch offers a smart, safe way to socialize your dog, built on four pillars:
- Compatibility matches: filter and connect by commune, size and play energy level, avoiding bad experiences. - Responsible verification: requires an up-to-date vaccination record and securely validates the owner's identity. - Safe meeting points: coordinate at enclosed plazas, authorized dog parks and pet-friendly venues rated by the community. - Protected privacy: chat and arrange playdates without sharing your phone number, social media or home address.
PawMatch is clear that it's not a marketplace or a breeding platform — it's a space focused only on safe playdates.
Pilot survey
While the app is being designed, any dog owner can join the pilot survey to help prioritize communes and key launch features. Perks of joining include:
- Choose your commune: the launch will prioritize the Santiago communes and plazas with the most interested owners. - Guaranteed security: all coordination and chat will happen safely inside the app. - Priority VIP access: a direct invite to be among the first to try the app for free.
Access to the survey requires signing in with Google, only to validate the owner's identity and avoid duplicate signups; at this stage no RUT or microchip number is requested.
