What is Docucar
Docucar is an app I built to solve an everyday problem: losing track of your car documents' expiration dates and ending up with fines or last-minute paperwork.
The platform centralizes the most important documents for any vehicle in one place:
- Registration (Padrón): the document that identifies the vehicle and proves ownership. - Circulation Permit: an annual municipal authorization to drive, renewed every year. - SOAP: Chile's mandatory personal accident insurance, required for the circulation permit. - Technical Inspection: certifies the car meets mechanical and emissions requirements. - Fire extinguisher (optional): tracks its expiration date so you're never caught without a valid one.
How it works
1. Upload a photo or PDF of each document to your account. 2. Docucar notifies you in advance before each one expires. 3. Renew on time and avoid fines and last-minute errands.
Coming soon: mobile app
I'm working on launching Docucar for Android and iOS. The app will add new features:
- Offline access to your Circulation Permit, SOAP, and Technical Inspection. - Mileage tracking and oil-change reminders, by kilometers or by date. - Maintenance history, with receipts and odometer adjustments. - The same expiration alerts you already get by email, now as phone notifications. - One account: sign in with your email and PIN, and your cars and documents sync between web and app.
While it launches on the app stores, anyone can sign up on the web version — the same account will work in the app later.
